Do Clickers in the Classroom improve student learning?  These days classroom clickers, also known as student response systems, are popping up in more and more classrooms across the nation.  With an emphasis on accountability for student performance many companies are marketing their newest technology as the next best tool for student learning gains.  This site is dedicated to the investigation of classroom response systems and their effectiveness for instruction.  Posts located under the classroom clickers category will look at various aspects of this relatively new technology as well as provide ways to contact various companies about their products.  Come back to this site often to learn more about clicker technology. 

As this site has evolved over time, there has been an emphasis many aspects of improving student learning.  Again the focus of the blog is to look at the clickers in the classroom technology and this will remain the primary topic.  In the coming months you will begin to see a series of articles written with acutal case studies related to increased student achievement based on the use of this student technology.  Real data from the classrooms I supervise will be displayed to determine the effectiveness of clickers in the classroom.  Initially we have seen an increase in student performance over the past 6 months.  The most telling factor in all of this has been the teacher's effectiveness in the use of the technology.  Again, it comes down to the classroom teacher being the single most important factor in student achievement.  However, this technology does make the effective teacher even more effective.  So far our experiences have indicated it is well worth the dollars invested at this point.  Stay tuned for the data picture.  All posts related to clickers in the classroom will be located in the category classroom clickers.  Come back often!
